In this introductory module, we’ll learn about the different reasons for working at height, exploring the risks of working at height, with examples. It also discusses who to consider when working at height and how to decide if someone is competent to work at height. 

In module two, we will familiarise with the risk assessment process, taking a look at the five steps of risk assessment, the safety control measures that must be in place, and fundamental emergency procedures. 

In module three, we will deepen our understanding of the different types of PPE needed to work at height and in confined spaces, with training on how to check and inspect work equipment for safe use. 

In module four, we will learn the definition of a confined space, as well as confined space legislation in England and Wales. We will also gain an in-depth understanding of the responsibilities of employers and employers for working in high-risk work environments.

In module five, we will explore the complete procedure for assessing risk, learning how to identify the hazards before entering a confined space and what precautions to take.

In module six, we will explore some safe systems of work for confined spaces, taking a look at safety communication best practices, the provision of special tools and lighting, accessibility, and other key topics.

In module seven, we will learn how to make arrangements for emergency rescue, as well as learn basic fire safety and first aid procedures. It also covers best practices for safeguarding rescuers and how to raise the alarm in an emergency.
