Safeguarding Children

The Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults course is designed to provide practical training to those who are responsible for protecting the welfare of children, whether in a professional or personal environment. Our experienced instructor will take you through key safeguarding procedures, laws and policies, teaching you the different types of abuse and how to recognise them, when and how to report your safeguarding concerns, and much more.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Training

Those who work in social care or support work must demonstrate an awareness of their legal requirements when safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults. In this beginners training course, you will explore the framework of standards for safeguarding adults in the UK, and will gain comprehensive knowledge of the different types of abuse, as well as the key principles and practices of safeguarding.

This safeguarding bundle training course is ideal for professionals who work with adults and children, such as those who work in social care and teaching roles. There are no specific entry requirements for this course, which can be studied on a part-time or full-time basis.

Certification

Once you’ve successfully completed your course, you will immediately be sent a digital certificate. Also, you can have your printed certificate delivered by post (shipping cost £3.99). All of our courses are fully accredited, providing you with up-to-date skills and knowledge and helping you to become more competent and effective in your chosen field. Our certifications have no expiry dates, although we do recommend that you renew them every 12 months.

Assessment

At the end of the course, there will be an online assessment, which you will need to pass to complete the course. Answers are marked instantly and automatically, allowing you to know straight away whether you have passed. If you haven’t, there’s no limit on the number of times you can take the final exam. All this is included in the one-time fee you paid for the course itself.

Course Curriculum for Safeguarding Children

In module one, we will learn the definition of safeguarding, the importance of safeguarding, safeguarding roles and responsibilities, and child protection policies.

In module two, we will explore the UK laws and key legislation behind safeguarding children, outlining the fundamental points of each act. We will also take a look at child safeguarding policy and guidelines.

In module three, we will gain an in-depth understanding of what constitutes abuse and neglect, the different types of abuse, and how to identify the signs of a child at risk.

In module 4, we will learn about child sexual exploitation, the types of sexual abuse, the characteristics of sexual offenders, and the common patterns and signs of child sexual abuse. 

In module 5, you will be guided on how to assess if a child is at risk of harm, how to recognise a high-risk situation, and will explore the steps in the single assessment process.

In module 6, we will learn about the protocol on sharing information that has been disclosed by a child, your ‘duty of care’, and how to take appropriate action when making referrals to social care services.

In module 7, you will learn how to make a referral to social services, what should be included in your referral, and what to do if you disagree with the decision made.

The final module takes a look at record-keeping procedures and policies, including which documents should be included in safeguarding records, and the policy regarding sharing information.

Course Curriculum for Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Training

In Module one, we will focus on what safeguarding vulnerable adults involves and detail the basic things we need to know about safeguarding.

In module two, we will start to look into the key legislations and why they are relevant to safeguarding as well as the key points to each act. 

In module three, we will look into more detail about what constitutes as abuse or neglect and learn how to recognise the signs of abuse.

In module four we will look at the responsibilities that you will have in ensuring a vulnerable adults safety and wellbeing.

In module 5, we will look at communication methods within a care setting, and why it is important to build respectful and trusting relationships.

In module six, we will look at how we respond to a safeguarding concern.We will learn how we share the information we have, and who to report your concerns to. 

In module seven, we will look at your responsibilities when raising a concern in more depth.
